Staff members eligible to vote in a public election may be excused from regular duty with pay during voting hours on any election day for a period not to exceed 2 hours. Application for time should be made to the staff member's department head prior to election day. The specific time off may be designated by the department head and granted only if the staff member's service period does not allow a 3-hour period outside of working hours during which polls are open.
