3.09 Career Services

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to define services provided by Career Services, to designate eligibility for use of said services, and to delineate fee policy.

Policy Statement

Career Services provides career decision making, career readiness, and job search assistance (resumes, cover letters, job search strategies); mock interviews; and a comprehensive job board to all currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.  Additionally, Career Services organizes, manages and hosts career fairs and on-campus recruiting activities, and collects and disseminates graduate follow-up data.   Career Services will provide services to alumni for up to one (1) year after graduation.

Procedure

Each new student enrolled at the University is automatically registered with Career Services.

Registration for cooperative education or internships requires appropriate departmental approval for for-credit experiences and zero-credit transcript notations.  A Board of Regents, State of Iowa-approved administrative fee may be applied to these activities.
