4.51 Insurance Plans

The University's group life insurance, long term disability insurance, retirement protection plan, health insurance, and dental insurance are provided for eligible personnel. Participation in the University life insurance, long term disability and retirement protection program is compulsory for all eligible personnel. Group health and dental insurance program coverages are available as an option.

A University staff member may continue insurance coverages while on an approved leave of absence without pay, by assuming the total cost for such coverages. If coverage is discontinued during the leave, the staff member will immediately be eligible to resume coverage upon return to active University service.
